Parents' Role

Every member of the co-op is significant, and everyone has a vital contribution to make! At Vero Beach Academy, parents are valued as teachers because they are their child's primary teacher! Children learn the most from their parents.


Vero Beach Academy gives parents the tools they need to be successful throughout the year. Parents will receive manipulatives and supplies that help them teach their homeschool lessons with excellence and ease. Homeschooling becomes enjoyable for parents as well as kids. 


Parent involvment is key in the success of the co-op . There are many opportunities for involvment, so please plan to jump in! 


  • PArents as teachers

    VBA provides homeschool lesson plans each week as a guideline for parents, but each parent is ultimately responsible for their child’s growth.

    Parents receive a manipulative box with supplies that help make homeschooling practical for all families. 


    Parents who register at VBA will need to follow all requirements for home education. Vero Beach Academy is NOT a public or private school - we are a homeschool co-op. 

  • Parents as VOLUNTEERs

    Parents are asked to give their time to make the co-op a success in various ways.

    • Volunteer 2 Fridays a year to help at on campus enrichment
    • Participate and fully support STEAM Fest through volunteering
    • Obtain STEAM Fest sponsorships/ exhibitors to support the event
    • Assist with promoting VBA to friends, family, co-workers..etc.

  • parents as Leaders

    Each family is asked to be a part of VBA's "Parents as Leaders" (PALs) group.


      PALs supports Vero Beach Academy by engaging parents in providing volunteers for school events, raising funds to support our program, expressing appreciation for our teachers and administrators, and much more.  But perhaps most importantly, it establishes a formal structure to encourage honest communication between parents and administrators, as well as to build relationships among parents.
