Lower Elementary

For its core academic subjects in grades PreK-2nd grade, Vero Beach Academy teaches grade level expectations for: Phonics, Reading, Grammar, Writing, Math, History, Science, Handwriting and Bible. Through picture cards, Bible stories are brought to life each week. Our educational materials are not just biblically faithful—they are also academically sound. Our materials use hands-on-learning, creative problem solving, and other research-proven instructional strategies to motivate students.


Through using professionally illustrated Abeka Book textbooks and readers, teaching aids, hands-on activities and challenging exercises, gives students all the tools they need to make learning interesting and memorable. VBA also supplements activities and resources. Various hands on materials, manipulatives and centers are implemented to make learning fun and engaging for each student! 


Through this mixture of resources,  Vero Beach Academy helps children master academic skills and grow socially and emotionally. 

Upper Elementary

For its core academic subjects in Upper Elementary, (Grades 3-6) Vero Beach Academy teaches as appropriate for each grade level: Reading, Grammar, Writing, Math, History, Science, Handwriting and Bible.


Vero Beach Academy primarily uses BJU Press for our in class curriculum. BJU Press goes beyond facts and processes, so textbooks direct students to think for themselves. They are encouraged to use discernment and to consider their worldview in everyday situations. Our textbooks help students to develop skills in critical thinking with inductive teaching, hands-on-learning, and probing questions.   


Homeschool lesson plans consist of engaging stories with comprehension questions, extended response questions, graphic organizers, enrichment ideas, hands on math examples, teaching aids and fact practice. The curriculum provided focuses on exposing students to a variety of strategies and real world approach.

Middle School

Vero Beach Academy is excited to offer a middle school program for 6th-8th graders on Tuesday/Thursday.


In middle school, VBA will foster a strong emphasis on developing responsibility and independence in the students. The program is designed to be a support model - helping kids be accountable and diligent with their academics, providing socialization, tutoring opportunities and teaching in the core academic subjects. 


In class, students will rotate between core academic subjects: Math, ELA, Literature, Science, Science Lab, Social Studies. Vero Beach Academy uses BJU Press for its middle school curriculum. 


VBA is happy to offer paced at-home curriculum for families to use for  homeschooling. The curriculum does integrate virtual components to ensure that students can work from anywhere.

Academic Coach

Vero Beach Academy is committed to differentiating instruction to students and helping families have a positive experience on their homeschooling journey. 


One way we partner with parents is providing an Academic Coach through out Administrative Team. 


Our Admins works with teachers to individualize instruction when needed, to assist parents with homeschooling questions or concerns and helps foster academic excellence at VBA.
